CONSTIPATION / SUPPLEMENTS

I have been adding wheat germ to foods for Evan to keep her bowel movements more regular.

It is extremely nutritious and lends itself well to blending with any food. You can sprinkle it onto ice cream, yogurt, sweet potatoes, baby food cereals, baby foods, cinnamon toast, etc.

If you haven't tried the taste yourself, it is almost tasteless. It has a fine, flaky texture. Sort of reminds me of finely ground pecans. A 2 tablespoon serving has 6% fiber. The added fiber helps to offset the constipation coming from the protein in the soy milk.

I add it to Evan's morning oatmeal, it makes a great thickening agent when I don't get the oatmeal at quite the right consistency. The high nutritional content is an added plus, especially since it is easier to get into them than trying to use juices for the constipation (Evan never would cooperate with juice either).

I do keep it refrigerated so that it keeps a fresher flavor.

Sincerely,
Joan
